Separate parts of the connection
When connecting a remote network node, you need to describe the entire chain: platform devices, local area network, satellite modem and external channel. iQ Desktop + refers to the satellite part of this scheme. It does not replace the access point or local area subscriber radio module.
If the facility is already using a radio data channel, specify its role and location. You need to understand which users should access via satellite, and what traffic will remain inside the site.
One modem is not enough.
For the ground-based VSAT kit, antenna, BUC and LNB, power supply and necessary connections are also agreed. The indices of the transmitting and receiving tract must correspond to the selected system. The general mention of iDirect is not a test of any combination of components.
When replacing one node, list the stored equipment. This allows you to separate the purchase of a modem from the full purchase of the station. The state and applicability of older components are confirmed, not assumed, by external similarity.
Traffic and user network
Describe the programs and the number of concurrent users, large programs and short mandatory sessions. The backup channel may have different priorities than the main channel. This description is more useful than requesting maximum passport speed without a list of work tasks.
Addressing, access to corporate resources and load distribution are discussed with the network manager. Buying a device does not guarantee the automatic operation of any VPN or cloud application. The terms of inclusion are confirmed in the draft.
What to count
The request should separate the equipment, setup and communication service. The tariff will require the area of work, the requirements of Tx/Rx and the mode of use. Subscription fees are not included in the price of one iQ Desktop+.
Send the diagram of the existing network, the list of saved components, the number of sets, the city and details. For a new facility, you can start with a full ground-based VSAT1.8m, then specify the necessary additions at the installation site.
