AI and network configuration versions: comparing two states
After changing the setting, you need to understand how the new saved state differs from the previous one. The assistant can explain text differences if the application knows exactly the two files being compared and their origin. The configuration archive should be built as a set of verifiable versions, keeping the boundary between the description of the change and its application to the network.
The version must have an object and origin.
For each image, you need a stable host ID, time of receipt, export method, version of the software environment and verification status. A file name like final-new does not define what state actually worked. Separately note, the configuration is removed from the device or prepared as a project of change.
Save the original file and checksum. If secret fields are hidden in the interface, it should be a separate derivative copy with agreed rules. The search user does not need to provide the entire archive with passwords and keys; the rights to the source and to the anonymized technical guide may vary.
Textual difference and meaning of the change
Git diff allows you to compare states and files, showing changes in text. Such a comparison is convenient to use as a verifiable basis of explanation. It does not itself certify that the change is secure, applied to the device, or has the same meaning in different versions of its program.
Before comparing, define rules for processing the order of lines, automatically changing fields and comments. Save the ability to open the original two files: Overnormalization can remove an important distinction. The model should refer to a specific fragment, and the unknown command should be left to the engineer for verification.
Check the report for common and controversial changes
Prepare to rename a comment, change the parameter value, rearrange lines and file from another node with a similar name. The expected result is set in advance: what differences are visible and what conclusions can not be drawn from them. The wrong pair of files should lead to refinement, not a beautiful report.
For each technical guide, the identifiers of the two versions, the normalization rules and the model are saved. If it is later revealed that one file was a draft, this is reflected in the status of the source. The staff member should see the history of such clarification and not obtain the previous conclusion without reservation about the origin of the data.
Composition of the local application
In the query, specify configuration types, version size, access groups, and the required report format. Separate works will be import, storage of source materials, allocation of a copy available to the user, comparison and confirmation log. Automatic application of commands to the operating network is not required for the described pilot.
To select a server, you need a control pair of files and an expected line of comparisons. The quotation fixes the actual machine, model, programs and included functions. When changing the model, the cases with permutations and similar node names are repeated; the file history and confirmed statuses are preserved regardless of the version of the AI.
Questions before ordering
Is the AI report enough to apply the new configuration?
The report prepares material for verification. The decision on the application, the procedure for changing and checking the operating network is agreed by the responsible engineer under a separate procedure.
Can you only store cleaned text without the original?
For the audited archive, an agreed procedure for storing the source and derivative copies is required. If the original is available to a limited number of employees, the connection with it and the checksum are stored in the system.
